Assurance of Learning for Higher Education Institutions is an interactive, activity-based workshop designed to help educators and administrators understand and implement the Assurance of Learning (AoL) process in their institutes. The purpose of this workshop is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify program competencies and objectives, develop assessment methods, and collect and analyze data to bring improvements in academic programs. The workshop will also cover the challenges that educators and administrators may encounter when implementing an AoL process and will provide strategies for overcoming these challenges.

Tahira Jaffery, Lecturer, Member AACSB Review and Execution Committee, School of Business Studies, IBA, Karachi.
Sana, Tahira and Kanza are pioneering members of the AACSB Review and Execution Committee (AREC) that is working towards obtaining the AACSB accreditation for Business programs at IBA. As part of the committee, they are spearheading the accreditation process at IBA-SBS and have worked on the successful preparation and submission of Initial Self-Evaluation Report (ISER) and progress report in 2021 and 2022, respectively. They deeply understand the principles of Assurance of Learning (AoL) and are responsible for the development and implementation of AoL frameworks and processes for all business programs at IBA-SBS.
They have attended multiple AACSB trainings on AoL and other accreditation standards. Collectively, they have multiple years of teaching and training experience and have imparted multiple trainings including AoL to a variety of audience.
Faculty, department chairs, deans, and those working on implementing Assurance of Learning in higher education institutions. Individuals who are new to assurance of learning, who have recently joined an AoL committee, who are implementing an AoL plan, or who need to be familiarized with the general terminology and implementation.
The participant will
- Understand the philosophy and process of Learning Assurance for academic programs.
- Be able to design program competencies, objectives, assessments and rubrics.
- Attain the working knowledge of managing and analyzing assessment data for continuous program improvements.
- Be able to identify challenges and strategies to effectively engage all the stakeholders in the process of assurance of learning.
